There are so many facets of marketing that I thought it would be useful to define exactly what we are talking about when we use the term “Mobile Marketing.”
“A set of practices that enable organizations to communicate and engage with their audience in an interactive and relevant manner through any mobile device or network.”
There is another definition that is in the book by Kim Dushinski “The Mobile Marketing Handbook: A Step – by – Step Guide to Creating Dynamic Mobile Marketing Campaigns.”
Mobile marketing is how businesses communicate with consumers on their mobile devices, with that consumers explicit permission, at the right time, at the right place while providing relevant value.”
Either definition you choose to follow, you should not be using interruption based marketing, should be interactive and should add value to their experience with you. A mobile device is about as personal as you can get when marketing. Just ask yourself that age old question; Is the marketing that you are presenting to people the way you would like to be marketed to?
